Family Day celebrations return to Esquimalt on Feb 19.

Mark your calendars, Esquimalt!

The 10th annual family fun day is returning to Esquimalt Recreation Centre and Archie Browning Arena.

Boasting a joyful day of laughs, memories and reflection, families of all ages and backgrounds are invited to enjoy a jam-packed holiday, filled with fun activities that include swimming and a kindergym for the little ones!

Starting the day off right with a family breakfast, the Esquimalt Lions Club will be providing the pancake breakfast from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Donations will be accepted for the pancake breakfast, with all proceeds going to Esquimalt community initiatives.

After breakfast, take in a full slate of activities with something for everyone in the family.

The Kindergym – which includes a bouncy castle! – will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. along with additional art, fitness and emergency preparedness activities. If swimming is your preference, head to the pool for a free swim from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Esquimalt Parks and Recreation team is excited to welcome local families and to showcase their work throughout the community with the help of other Esquimalt organizations such as the Emergency Preparedness team, The Esquimalt Arts Hub and the Lion’s Club.

“Esquimalt’s recreation centres bring the community together on Family Day and throughout the year – to stay active, to learn something new and have fun connecting with friends, family and neighbours,” Nicklin says. “We’re thrilled to showcase a small portion of those activities Feb. 19. Come check it out – we’d love to see you!”

Esquimalt’s Family Day festivities take place at the Esquimalt Recreation Centre, 527 Fraser St.from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
